Performing & Lessons

Mr. Johnstone is available for public and private performances as a soloist, in a guitar and flute duo or with various combinations of instruments. He performs the full spectrum of the classical repertoire including Renaissance, Baroque, Classical, Romantic, 20th and 21st century music, as well as Jazz, Flamenco and Celtic music.

Teaching guitar since 1978, Mr. Johnstone works with beginners to advanced students in classical and jazz, as well as other styles. Many of his students have taken first prize at the Downeast Classical Guitar Competion. In addition to private lessons, he also coaches ensembles.
